# cs switch (/docs/cli/switch)

`cs switch` re-scopes the stored session to another organization you belong to.
Keys, connectors, remote servers, usage, and `/mcp` calls then act on that
organization. [`cs whoami`](/docs/cli/whoami) shows the active organization and
the others you can switch to.

## Usage \[#usage]

cs switch            # choose from a list
cs switch org_01K…   # switch to one organization

Without a terminal, name the organization. If you belong to several and name
none, the command lists them and exits with code `1`. An id you are not a member
of is refused the same way.

## When the switch is refused \[#when-the-switch-is-refused]

Some organizations require their own sign-in, such as SSO or MFA. A session
that did not come from that sign-in cannot be switched into the organization,
and the command exits with code `3`. Sign in to the organization directly
instead:
