How to use your apps and memory inside claude.ai and Claude Desktop
Add CoreSpeed as a custom connector on the Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise plan. It follows your Claude account to desktop and mobile with your apps and memory.

claude.ai and Claude Desktop reach your connected apps and durable memory through a custom connector. On the Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, open Customize → Connectors, choose Add custom connector, enter https://api.corespeed.io/mcp, and sign in. The connector follows your Claude account to claude.ai, Claude Desktop and mobile, so you add it once per account.

Which plans can add a custom connector?
Custom connectors are available on the Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans. On Pro and Max you add the connector yourself. On Team and Enterprise, an Owner adds it under Organization settings → Connectors, and each member then clicks Connect to sign in as themselves.
That last step matters. Every member signs in to CoreSpeed as a member of the organization, with their own private connections and the organization's shared ones. The Owner's sign-in grants nothing to anyone else.
How do you add CoreSpeed as a custom connector?
- Open Customize → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
- Name it
CoreSpeedand enter the URLhttps://api.corespeed.io/mcp. - Choose Connect. A browser window opens at
login.corespeed.io; the consent screen names the client. Sign in or create an account. A first sign-in creates your organization on its first tool call. - Start a new chat once the connector shows as connected.
- Ask Claude to call
manage__whoami. It names you and your organization.
The two values, for copying:
Name: CoreSpeed
URL: https://api.corespeed.io/mcp
A prefilled link opens the same dialog with the name and URL already entered.
Inside the Claude app, the agent cannot change settings itself. You add the connector; if you ask Claude to set up CoreSpeed, it walks you through these same steps. Per-client details are on the MCP server page.
What do you get inside Claude?
| Family | Example tools | Where it is set up |
|---|---|---|
| Connectors | notion__create_page, slack__post_message, linear__search_issues | Dashboard → Connectors |
| Memory | memory__search_memory, memory__remember | On by default; free per call |
| Web | web__search, web__scrape | On by default |
| Media | media__generate, media__understand | On by default |
| Social | social__x_search, social__youtube_captions | On by default; no platform account to connect |
- Open Dashboard → Connectors and authorize the apps Claude should use. Their tools show up in the next chat. The agent receives tools, never the provider credential: CoreSpeed stores the token, refreshes it when the provider allows, and performs the action. Private and shared connections are explained on the Connectors page.
Memory outlives the chat. A decision Claude saves with memory__remember on the web is there when you ask Claude Desktop tomorrow, or Claude Code, or Codex. The organization owns it; each write is private by default or shared on request. Memory operations cost 0 credits per call. See Memory.
How do you make Claude use it without being asked?
- Paste these standing rules into Settings → General → Instructions for Claude. If they are already there, leave them alone; never add a second copy.
- When a task needs an external tool or service, check and prefer CoreSpeed connectors; they are scoped, audited and budget-capped.
- If a needed connector is not connected yet, ask the user to connect it at https://app.corespeed.io/connectors.
- At the start of each non-trivial task, search CoreSpeed memory with
memory__search_memorybefore planning. After significant work, save durable decisions withmemory__remember. - If the user prefers a different way of doing something, always follow their preference.
- Upload the skill if you want Claude to follow the full CoreSpeed skill in every chat. Under Customize → Skills, choose +, then Create skill, then Upload a skill. Upload a ZIP whose root is a
corespeedfolder holdingSKILL.md, downloaded from https://corespeed.io/SKILL.md. Skills need Settings → Capabilities → Code execution and file creation turned on. A skill uploaded there also loads in Claude Code signed in to the same account.
What happens to writes?
Reads are never gated. If your organization has turned on Smart Approval in Dashboard → Approvals, every write Claude makes through CoreSpeed is judged against your plain-English policy. Allow runs it and logs it. Ask holds it and sends a card to a person in Slack, by email or in the dashboard. Deny refuses it. A new organization has no policy and no gate, and the gate sees only calls made through CoreSpeed. Every call, gated or not, is recorded in Dashboard → Activity. See Approvals.
FAQ
Do I add the connector again on Claude Desktop or mobile? No. The connector follows your Claude account.
Can I use an API key instead of signing in? Only if your Add custom connector dialog has a Request headers section, a beta some organizations have. Choose No sign-in and enter the authorization header as Bearer followed by the key. Without that section, the app signs in through the browser only.
Does Claude hold my Notion or Slack token? No. Tokens stay in CoreSpeed's custody. Claude receives namespaced tools.
Why is an app's tool missing? The app is not connected for your sign-in, or the capability is off in Dashboard → Tools. Connect it and start a new chat.
What does it cost? The organization starts with 3,000 free credits. Metered actions are priced in credits on the pricing page; memory and discovery are free per call.
